Privacy, without guesswork.
This website
This website does not offer file uploads or request access to your camera or clipboard. The file-transfer details below describe features of the installed LinkUp app.
With your permission, we use Microsoft Clarity cookies, heatmaps and session recordings to understand how visitors use this website. Clarity processes website interaction and device data. It loads only after you select Accept analytics. Reject analytics, or closing the banner, keeps it off. We do not enable advertising storage consent.
Your analytics choice is saved in this browser. Use here to change it. Withdrawing acceptance clears accessible Clarity cookies and refreshes the page to stop the tracker completely. It does not erase data already sent while analytics was enabled. You can use the website without accepting analytics.
This tracking is limited to the public information pages and is not included in the installed app, account workspace, or private file-transfer pages. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement for information about Microsoft's processing.
Our website keeps private daily totals of installer download requests by operating system, chip architecture, package format and release version. Chrome Web Store visits are counted separately. These counters do not store IP addresses, cookies or visitor identifiers and operate independently of optional Clarity analytics. A request does not confirm a completed download or installation.
LinkUp Receive for Chrome
LinkUp Receive is published by First Contact Agency Inc. It opens a LinkUp receiving page from a transfer code or private link that you enter. The extension does not read your browsing history, other tabs, clipboard, emails, or received file contents. It contains no advertising or analytics.
Codes and links remain in the popup's memory until it closes. When you select Receive files, the extension opens the corresponding receiving URL on send.linkupprojects.com in a new tab. The receiving website processes the transfer and ordinary network information as described below. Private-link decryption keys remain in the URL fragment rather than the HTTP request.
If you enter a link password, the extension holds it briefly in memory and passes it once to the exact receiving tab that it opened. This handoff expires after two minutes or when that tab closes. A content script runs only on LinkUp receiving routes to fill the password field; you still select Unlock files. The extension does not save passwords in persistent storage, log them, add them to URLs, or send them to an analytics service. When you choose to unlock a protected transfer, the receiving website sends the password to the LinkUp service over HTTPS for verification.
We use this information only to provide and protect the receiving feature. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness. The extension's use of user data follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Close the popup or uninstall the extension to stop using it; files you deliberately saved through the receiving page remain on your device.
For privacy questions about the extension, contact send@linkupprojects.com.
Information processed
The service stores encrypted file bodies and an encrypted manifest until the sender's chosen expiration. It also processes ciphertext sizes, file count, share creation and access times, expiration, download counters, and whether a password gate is enabled. A password is sent over TLS, converted into a salted scrypt verifier, and is not stored in plaintext.
Network security data
Source network addresses are held temporarily in server memory to enforce abuse limits and password lockouts. Production infrastructure providers may process ordinary connection information needed to deliver the service. LinkUp does not sell this information or use it for advertising.
Camera and clipboard
Camera access begins only after you choose to scan a QR code. Video frames are processed on the device and are not uploaded. Clipboard access occurs only when you choose an explicit copy action.
Retention
Encrypted shares are removed after their configured expiration; the service checks for expired shares at least every ten minutes while running. A reached download limit prevents further downloads but does not shorten the original storage period. Operational backups must follow the same expiration policy.
What a link reveals
Anyone holding the complete link can decrypt the share unless an additional password is required. LinkUp keeps the decryption key in the URL fragment so conforming browsers do not send it to the service. Recipients should still exchange links and passwords through trusted channels.
Your choices
In the installed app, you can delete individual secure links, clear local history, or erase local app data. Camera access begins only when you choose to scan a QR code.
